Today was FUNDAY. And completely tiring at the same time :D
In the morning, I went to EAST COAST PARK with Cherie, Claudia, Vanessa and Josephine. To teach Cherie how to REALLY RIDE. :D It took forever to reach EAST COAST PARK. There was a lot of walking, AND it was under the scorching sun. Which was so annoying. Fortunately, with the help of a kind security guard, passerby, and Jo's map, we managed to find the underground path to
ECP. It took us like half and hour!
First, we went to borrow the bikes. DUH. We paid $6 for 3 hours, it's a package. But I could only stay for 1 hour though D: Once we got the bikes, we taught Cherie how to ride, properly. It was so funny, because we kept using gym talk like "Jiajing" and all that. :D Cherie was cute, when she first started she kept leaning from side to side and twisting her back to try and balance. Either she's a real quick learner or we're great teachers, (Hopefully both :D) soon enough, she could ride pretty okay on her own. Then we brought her to the main road, with such a long road, she quickly got used to it and finally stabilised.
Cycling was fun. Wind blowing in your face, sound of the paddling and the waves, it all made it really relaxing. And thanks to our great bikes, cycling was effortless. Claudia and I occasionally cycled with one hand or no hands. Claudia can cycle with no hands longer than I can though :D And cycling with one hand is so useful when you need to hold your phone. :D
After cycling for pretty long, we reached the beach of the SAND CASTLE VALLEY :D The sand castles there were pretty cool. Though they weren't freshly made, and there were tracks here and there left by photo people. My dad said they're amateurish, (Well he is an architect! Plus he must have seen better ones) but I still think they look pretty good) We took, or rather I took, a lot of photos. As you will see below :D Then Cherie started getting impatient to cycle again. She got completely hooked :D Plus I needed to go back.
It was really fun. Especially because throughout the whole cycling part, we were still laughing, joking, teasing and egoing around. :D Like we always do. So it pretty much added on to our fun :D
They helped me return my bike and I went to change and bought Mac take away. Then I was on my way to Beyond social services for service learning. It was really fun considering. But there were so little kids. They were all boys! There were only 2 girls but they didn't really join us, except in some art and craft and hide and seek. YES, we played a few pretty lame and simple games. But it was fun i guess. Like bringing back your childhood!
We started with the traffic game 'green light red light'. Its like the wolf game/ aeiou. Then we sang songs. NAINAI taught us the motorcycle song. The boys (being boys) were reluctant to join, but they did after a while. Its hard not to be affected by NAINAI's songs or influenced by her RETARDEDNESS. Then we played 'ICE AND FREEZE'. Its actually 'FREEZE AND MELT', but David (One of the kids) insisted that it was ICE AND FREEZE, like when we said okay let's play freeze and melt or when we even mention freeze and melt, he'll go "NOO. Please please please play ICE AND FREEZE. SO we just went by ICE AND FREEZE. Though it doesn't really make sense. :D We played a lot. Because (being boys) they enjoyed it so much. Until WE got tired, we did art and craft.
First was sponge art. I just grab and few and worked on those pieces to create a picture. I made a simple rocket car. Then I got bored (It took like 1 min!) so I started adding stuff, like decorations to the car and a sun! HAHA. Even after all that, I still had some time, the others were all doing more complicated stuff. SIMPLICITY is BEST :D And when people asked me what it was, I just replied "UP TO YOU!". Haha, because then, I had no Idea EXACTLY what it was. :D Next we did this symmetric thing. It's actually really fun. THIS ONE, took FOREVER. Because I'm lousy with a pair of scissors. D: But I managed to do two, and I'm pretty satisfied :D NAINAI liked it. Haha.
After that it was MORE GAMES. And tiring too. They played HIDE AND SEEK. I didn't hide at all! Haha. The first time, I helped seek, and the subsequent ones, I was ONLOOKER. Except one, I sheepishly went to follow NAINAI, because she hid under the table and I wanted to too :D Then we played MORE 'ICE AND FREEZE'. Gosh they NEVER get tired of THAT! David kept making me catcher. How unfair. The room was small. So I didn't really run. Thank God! I was wearing the wrong shoes!
Some of the kids don't play fair! But anyway, THEY ARE KIDS. And they're boys. I guess we're wounding their ego for being so good at the game they love. SERIOUSLY. We're sort of older. There's nothing embarrassing. But anyway, since they didn't play fair, instead (for the boys) of trying to freeze them all, I counted the number of times I freezed them. Cause SOME OF THEM, never freeze. They just keep running. Might as well build your ego by counting how many times you caught them. 25 times in ONE GAME. NICE NUMBER :D
Then we sat down, gave cookies, talked a bit. And it was time to go home. Jan and I were the last to leave, because my dad was coming to fetch us. We talked to the oldest guy. (I think) He plays pool pretty well. David calls Jan BIG SISTER, even Jan said it was ironic, though technically true :D We talked about twilight and her vampire anime all the way till we reached the mrt station :D
So that's basically it. I'm sleeping early today. I have an entire day of IVP tomorrow. Don't want to fall asleep during that time. Plus tomorrow, is serious homework day. I'm going to attempt to complete as much as I can. Hopefully shorten my list :D
